Competent and Sustainable Health Promotion Practice or Health Promotion: a Competent Sustainable Profession

Two current initiatives being coordinated by HPF will significantly contribute to acompetent and sustainable workforce.

HPF invites you to a meeting to explore issues around the establishment of a Professional Association for Health Promoters and the review of Ngā Kaiakatanga Hauora mō Aotearoa Competencies for Health Promotion in Aotearoa.

Hear updates about progress and explore issues around the establishment of a Professional Association and the 2011 draft Competencies for Health Promotion in Aotearoa.

Presentations will be followed by discussion and opportunity for input.

Participants will
Understand the present stages of both initiatives and how they fit together.
Have opportunities for input and to discuss concerns and issues.
Understand the next steps and future directions for both initiatives.

Dr Alison Blaiklock Executive Director HPF supports and enables the health promotion sector to strengthen its position as a sustainable, proficient and capable part of the public health workforce.

Helen Rance Senior Health Promotion Strategist at HPF is taking the lead in reviewing and redrafting the competencies for health promotion.
